Cure for Homesickness

Nothing cures homesickness better than a walk in the woods with my friend Lise. Lise works at Nordia but is an Osteopath and connects with healing energy like me. Well there was lots of healing energy around this place. Half an hour out of Montreal is the Laurentian Mountains. . . well hills really, but they're beautiful. We went hiking beside the river that has rapids and is very strong at this time of year when the snow is all melting. There's still a bit of snow lying around but most of it is flowing down the river now. There were actually people kayaking!!! Someone had fallen out because we saw the kayak float down the river alone. Lise & I found the paddle and put it so they could find it.

It was sooooooooo goooooood! It's so Canadian as well. The trees are distinctly Canadian and the water was so cold I couldnt leave my fingers in for more than a few seconds. How the Kayaked in it I'll never know.

Beaver Condos
Beavers acually build dams and then build their own little 4 bedroom house for mum, dad & the kids under the wood. A bit cold though - maybe they have central heating?

Looking at this you understand that those people taken by the Tsunami had no chance. It's so powerful. You can almost feel it gushing through your body.

A heart shaped break in the snow. . .a good sign! Posted by Picasa

I often get signs to let me know that I'm on the right path. This distinctive heart shape is one such sign. I also got my usual feather. Those of you who know me well know about my feathers. It was the only feather we saw and it was big & right in my path.

Images of Home

I am homesick today. It doesn't happen very often but sometimes I get homesick. This is my brother, my sister, my nephew, my car & MY beach (yes its just that no-one else in Sydney realises that Manly beach is my personal beach. )

I miss them all.

Now this is a Roemobile! But being a Holden - I wont find one of these in Canada. I'd like a Rav 4 but dont have a spare $30 000 to buy one.

Ah well - I'll be home in less than 6 weeks! That'll be fun. I'm really looking forward to it, especially showing Warren around who's never really travelled outside his own continent. I'll introduce him to spiders & snakes, maybe a shark or two and cool stuff like that. I'm still waiting to see a real Moose.

Adventures of Roe & Warren continued

Me at the Ottawa River, in Ottawa the Capital of Canada Posted by Picasa

Warren & I had a great time in the Nation's Capital? Capitol? It was so beautiful but it was deserted. It was like we had the city to ourselves. Behind me is Parliament Hill and the bridge in the distance on the left takes you from Ottawa in Ontario to Hull in Quebec.

Here we are at the Museum. This is an awesome museum that has the history of Canada and the peoples that inhabit it. Apparently the Norse came across in boats many moons ago. The Norse are Vikings. So Warren is a Viking!!! :-)
